Then you just have to turn round. Perpendicular bow, classic yacht stern with long overhang, plus a short cabin superstructure. The combination catches the eye. And the Flyer 33 is a real eye-catcher, even in the artificial surroundings of an exhibition hall. The designers at Dykstra Naval Architects gave the new boat its beautiful lines.
Flyer Yachts, a new brand from Holland, is making its debut at the trade fair in Düsseldorf and will be exhibiting its attractive debut in Hall 15. Behind the name is the well-known motorboat manufacturer Rapsody Yachts in Heeg, the Netherlands. Flyer is now to be launched there as a second, independent line.
The hull and deck are built as a GRP sandwich construction using a vacuum infusion process and vinylester resins. The attractive boat is available in two versions, as a simple Classic version or as an Ultimate version with a host of additional options such as a teak or Esthec cover on the running deck, gennaker or a carbon fibre mast. The L-keel can also be ordered in two versions, with a draught of 1.35 metres or 1.75 metres.
The living comfort below deck is sufficient for a short trip over the weekend for up to four people. Four berths are available in the finely finished interior, plus a small washbasin, cooking facilities and a chemical toilet. And the Flyer 33 is equipped with a Volvo Penta built-in engine and Saildrive propulsion from the shipyard. Alternatives with an electric motor will also be available as an option.
At the trade fair in Düsseldorf, the Flyer 33 will be offered for a base price of 146,500 euros gross, including the installation machine, a set of sails from North Sails and a complete interior outfitting.
